It all began with a passion for the early years

Christine has always believed that what happens in childhood shapes a person for life. As a teacher for over 7 years, she saw how much parents cared, yet many still felt unsure of how to guide their child’s learning at home.

When she became a mum herself, that belief only grew stronger. She understood first hand how important it is to have the right tools, not just random toys passed down by friends or relatives, but meaningful materials that truly keep a child engaged.

Sunshine Pumpkin was born from this passion. Christine brought her experience as an early childhood educator, and her husband Isaac brought curiosity and a fresh pair of eyes. With no background in education, Isaac discovered through stories from Christine’s classrooms and playtimes with their niece and nephew that you do not need to be a teacher to connect with a child. You simply need the right guidance and the willingness to pause, observe, and see how capable children really are.

That is the heart of Sunshine Pumpkin. We want to empower parents with simple tools and guidance so that learning begins right at home, where every parent is their child’s first and most important teacher.
